TESTIMONIALS
When I came to the University of Florida I didn't know a single person. I think part of the reason I was drawn to SigSig was because I was looking for a connection and to meet new people. I never really saw myself as the type of person who would join a sorority. I had this misconstrued idea of what sororities and Greek life were about, but I was so wrong. SigSig has been one of my greatest accomplishments and will be my most treasured memory as an undergraduate student.
This organization has helped me grow so much as a person, and I really am not just saying that. I wish you could have seen how closed in I was as a freshman. I was afraid to speak my mind, my voice, my opinion, and afraid to try new things. Three years later, I've held five different chair positions, served on the Executive Board, and am involved in many other organizations both on campus and in the community. Not only that, but SigSig has helped me flourish as a student. I've now been on the Dean's List for three consecutive semesters, and will be applying to dental schools next summer. I was given so many opportunities, and I really wish I could explain how grateful I am for all that SigSig has given me... But the only way to truly understand it, is to be a part of it.
Sigma Sigma Rho is an organization on the Multicultural Greek Council, a culturally-based body of fourteen fraternities/sororities whose primary goal is to unite its members through shared values and ideas. A lot of people ask me why I joined SigSig because I am not South Asian and SigSig is a South-Asian based sorority. We are not exclusively South Asian. We have members from all different kinds of backgrounds and ethnicities in this chapter and across all our chapters. I felt a bond with the sxsters, I could see myself in the organization when I went to my first rush event, and the rest is history. I was looking for friends when I came to UF from Pennsylvania, but Sigma Sigma Rho gave me one better: a family.

SigSig helped me by giving me a group of people I can be myself in front of. Professionally, I learned a lot about how to be a leader from the positions I held within the organization. SigSig also helped me develop better time management skills, and teach me how to prioritize different things. I'm super thankful to the organization for giving me some of my best friends and for helping me become the person I am today!

SigSig offered so many opportunities for leadership experiences, starting out with small chair positions leading up to executive board positions. I learned skills like communication, teamwork, delegation, and time management. Outside the organization itself, SigSig has helped me make so many connections with so many different people that definitely helped both my college career and my future career! My sxsters were always career-driven and so determined to be the best versions of themselves, so even studying and being around them was a huge motivation boost.

SigSig has helped me branch out, be more outgoing, and become more involved on campus. It has also helped me better develop my leadership skills and be more efficient in managing my schedule. I've been super lucky to be a part of a great sxsterhood in which I found a great group of girls who support each other!

I think that just little moments I had with sxsters were my favorite memories; from imprompty movie nights with Sana and Ria to craving and getting food at 2am with Jaden to dancing in the living room with Shreya, Srishti and Sukanya. It's those little moments that I didn't think would matter overall, but mattered the most. Any moments I had with Nisha were really special too, and she definitely was like the big sxster I never had.

My favorite memory was Spring 2020 Sxsterhood Retreat in Atlanta. I loved how everyone was together, and we all got to spend time exploring around the city and even when we were inside we played games. All in all it was really nice getting out of Gainesville and being with everyone.

Ramona "Elara" Parkash Delta Divergence - Fall 2016
Rushing SigSig during my first semester of freshman year was one of my best decisions of undergrad. I not only found the sxsters I've always wanted, but also became a part of a bonded network around the nation. Each sxster has taught me something unique, and above all else, inspired me to always remain confident with who I am. I'm proud to be part of an organization that is comprised of such empowered, driven and successful young women.

I have too many good memories in SigSig to pick my favorite, but this past sxsterhood retreat and the MGC Showcase last year definitely stand out. I never really saw myself as a dancer, but my sxsters helped me grow from someone with two left feet to someone who can do a whole dance routine with their eyes closed. The whole experience was just really, really fun and we had endless laughs while practicing.

Elyza "RiΣera" Navarro Xi Xylia - Spring 2024

Joining SigSig was not something in my 2024 bingo card, but it's truly a decision that's paid off. The growth that I've experienced as well as my class is something that I will never take fore granted. Collaboration and professional communication are skills that I've been able to hone in through this organization. We've kept the duality of being able to be silly while also getting the job done. I've been so thankful to be able to see my class flourish through and after education, grow side-by-side with my chapter, and experience a support system that's helped me break through. Each and every one of us do the best we can to motivate and support each other to achieve our goals. Whether it be sending food videos or silly memes, or late night lock-ins at Marston, I know that I can depend on these girls to always be there for me.
